It should be noted that weeds are weak in the early stages of their growth period and have little power to absorb water and nutrients and compete with pistachios, but over time they become very dangerous and harmful during the early stages of growth and maturity. . Chemical and mechanical control of weeds in the early stages of growth is much easier and more successful than in the mature period of weeds. In successful weed management, weed detection or monitoring is an important issue. It is important to visit the lands around the gardens and to visit the places or canals and streams of water inflow and outflow. Visits to estimate population or relative weed damage at least 4 times a year (one visit per season) are required. Visiting places that have relative humidity due to water accumulation is also important in tracking weeds in pistachio orchards, especially in pistachio-rich areas of Kerman province, which are usually irrigated by flooding. Visits to track weeds in areas that are lower than the garden floor and are filled with water when irrigated are important. Weed and how to fight (chemical and physical, etc.…) is essential in making better decisions and ultimately more effective control.
